The destiny of some bands is to forever change the history of rock. MY DYING BRIDE is exactly one of those special „chosen ones”.

The British group was formed in 1990, when it set in motion the dark waves of a revolution which would later bring to surface one of the most loved genres of melancholy music: Doom-Metal.

Together with Anathema and Paradise Lost, My Dying Bride creates the legendary „Peaceville Three” – the Holy Trinity of Doom.

MDB came into this world at the beginning of the 90s, when Andrew Craighan (guitar) and Rick Miah (drums) decided to form a band after leaving their former act Abiosis.

They were soon joined by Aaron Stainthorpe (vocals) and Calvin Robertshaw (guitar). Six months later, the newly formed group released a demo called „Towards the Sinister”. After the first single sold-out almost immediately, MDB received attention from Peaceville Records. The company helped them release their first EP, „Symphonaire Infernus Et Spera Empyrium”, which was extremely well received.

Later on, the band will enrich its line-up with a keyboarder/violin player, Martin Powell, who will add more instrumental layers to the band’s music. MDB will go on to release 11 studio albums, almost all being considered masterpieces of the eerie genre called doom-metal.

At the end of the day, who hasn’t heard the beautiful melancholy hymns „For My Fallen Angel”, „For You” or „A Kiss to Remember”, true sound-tracks to any metalhead’s sadder moments? Listening to the tunes is an overwhelming experience, even more so if it is done live.

My Dying Bride is no stranger to the Romanian audiences, having performed here several times. However, a new meeting with the doom-metal masterminds can only be a reason to rejoice.

Promusic Events, together with Maximum Rock Magazine Romania, will give you the chance to relive the experience…
